 Rick Marcotte Central School
Elementary School Principal and Teacher Search Update

As you are aware, Sue Luck is retiring at the end of this year and RMCS is searching for a new principal. Three committees have been established and are at work on the search process.

The Search Committee, facilitated by Jen Belisle, is reviewing applicant information and will forward a slate of qualified candidates to the Interview committee by 4/14/15.

The Interview Committee, facilitated by Phyllis Stambolian, is formulating questions and planning for actual interviews. The committee will be reviewing the slate of candidates at their next meeting scheduled for 4/15/15.

The Community Forum Committee, facilitated by Carol Wheeler, have scheduled the community forum on May 7th from 4-7 p.m. at RMCS. In order to develop meaningful questions for RMCS principal candidates to address at the forum, the committee is requesting that community members, parents, and staff take a few moments to fill out a brief survey. The results of the survey will help to craft questions that address your concerns and interests. The survey may be accessed at: http://tinyurl.com/RMCSprincipal.If you need a paper copy, contact the RMCS office.

South Burlington High School Window Project

Last March, voters approved funds to replace some of the old, single-pane windows with new, energy-efficient window units.  In accordance with state and federal law, we tested the caulk and glazing on the current windows for the presence of hazardous materials.  This testing revealed low levels of polychlorinated biphenyls (commonly referred to as PCBs) in the glazing, and the presence of both PCBs and asbestos in the caulk on the exterior of the windows.
