South Burlington High School Window Project

Last March, voters approved funds to replace some of the old, single-pane windows with new, energy-efficient window units.  In accordance with state and federal law, we tested the caulk and glazing on the current windows for the presence of hazardous materials.  This testing revealed low levels of polychlorinated biphenyls (commonly referred to as PCBs) in the glazing, and the presence of both PCBs and asbestos in the caulk on the exterior of the windows.
